The bilingual desk / One meaning, two languages

LinkedIn Language Translator

Carry your words into another language—not into corporate jargon. Choose an explicit language pair, protect names and specialist terms, and review the translation beside your original.

Translation, not transformation

A language translator for professional text

The same English word can describe two different jobs here. Translating a language changes how a reader understands your existing message; translating into LinkedIn speak changes its style. This desk does the first job, with your source text as the boundary.

01

Pick the actual language pair

Choose the language your draft is written in and a different target language. There is no automatic language detection or hidden switch to English. For mixed-language passages, simplify the source or translate one section at a time.

02

Keep specialist terms intact

Add up to ten source terms, one per line, to preserve exactly. Product names, acronyms and a person's preferred spelling are useful candidates. Terms must appear in the original; they are not a place to give the AI extra instructions.

03

Compare before copying

Review the original and editable translation together. Keep responsibility, dates, quantities, uncertainty and disagreement at the same strength. Preserved terms are checked literally, but that does not establish overall translation accuracy.

Original editorial examples

Small translations. Important boundaries.

These are illustrative examples written for this page, not testimonials or guaranteed model outputs. They show what to inspect when reviewing a draft.

01

English → Spanish / uncertainty

Source

“We tested the pilot with 3 teams in 2024. We have not measured wider results.”

Illustrative translation

Probamos el piloto con 3 equipos en 2024. No hemos medido resultados a mayor escala.

What to check

The pilot still involved three teams. The date stays 2024, and unmeasured wider results do not become a success claim.

02

French → English / ownership

Source

“J'ai aidé l'équipe Atlas à préparer deux ateliers. Je n'ai pas dirigé le projet.”

Illustrative translation

I helped the Atlas team prepare two workshops. I did not lead the project.

What to check

Helping does not become leading. Protect Atlas if it is the official spelling; keep the negative statement.

03

English → Simplified Chinese / invitation

Source

“The draft is ready for review. Could you send feedback by Friday?”

Illustrative translation

草稿已准备好供审阅。你能在周五之前提供反馈吗?

What to check

An invitation stays a question rather than a demand. Confirm that Friday is clear to the recipient before sending.

Where this desk fits

Translate one complete thought at a time

Paste text you are permitted to process. This tool does not retrieve a LinkedIn URL, sign into an account or publish a translated version.

  1. 01

    Translate a post draft

Work with a short finished update instead of asking for a new hook or fresh argument. The model is instructed to keep existing paragraphs and lists without adding hashtags, calls to action or extra achievements.

  2. 02

    Prepare a profile passage

Translate one Headline, About or Experience passage at a time. Review names, qualifications and titles with a fluent reader. This desk does not edit a live profile or create a second-language profile on LinkedIn.

  3. 03

    Understand or prepare a message

Use short, non-confidential text. An edited translation can become the new source with the reverse-direction button, but a round trip is not proof that the first translation was correct.

The human review

Names preserved. Meaning still needs checking.

A literal match can check a name or year; it cannot reliably judge tone, idioms, implied seniority or professional terminology. Keep human review in the workflow.

Check dates and quantities

Compare each number with the original activity and timeframe. A one-off workshop in 2024 must not become an annual program. Do not assume changing a number into words changes its value.

Read uncertainty and negation

Look for may, not yet, helped, pilot and similar boundaries. Translation should not upgrade a possibility into a promise or soften a disagreement into agreement.

Review names and register

Protected terms preserve spelling and case, not pronunciation or context. Ask a fluent reader to check specialist vocabulary and appropriate formality, especially before publishing a profile or outreach message.

Check the final destination

Translations can be longer than their source. This desk counts the result but does not certify platform field limits; check the destination before pasting.

Before you translate

LinkedIn language translator questions

Language support is a configured product capability, not a promise of equivalent quality for every language pair.

Does this translate languages or LinkedIn jargon?

This page translates professional text from one selected language to another. Use the LinkedIn Speak Translator if your goal is to decode jargon or change writing style within the same language.

Which source and target languages can I choose?

English, Spanish, French, German, Portuguese, Italian, Dutch, Polish and Simplified Chinese are selectable on both sides. Pick two different languages. The matrix shows configured combinations, not a benchmark validating every pair.

Can I translate a LinkedIn profile or post by URL?

No. Paste a short passage you are permitted to process. The form accepts up to 2,000 input units as counted by the browser, with some emoji using two units. It does not fetch posts, access accounts or translate a whole profile automatically.

How do protected terms work?

Enter up to ten terms already present in the source, one per line and at most 80 input units each. The service checks exact spelling and case after generation and retries once if a term is missing. A second failure is shown as an error; it is not silently accepted. Copy is also blocked if you remove a protected term while editing.

Does this change LinkedIn's translation or interface settings?

No. This independent tool translates pasted text only. LinkedIn's own feed translation and language settings are separate features. Consult LinkedIn Help for the current options available to your account.

Is a reverse translation an accuracy check?

It can expose a discrepancy, but it cannot prove accuracy. Related model errors can survive a round trip. Review the original with a fluent speaker when the content affects your professional reputation.

Do I need to sign in, and what happens to my text?

This form does not require sign-in. It sends text to the configured AI provider and is subject to service availability and rate limiting. No unlimited-use or private-processing guarantee is made; do not submit confidential information.

Why might translation fail?

The AI provider may be unavailable or rate-limited, or a required year or protected term may be missing after a retry. Without a configured provider, the tool shows an error instead of displaying the original as a fake translation.
